Overview

We\'re Müller UK & Ireland, a family-run dairy business. Dairy is a key part of a healthy diet, and we help meet the nutritional needs of millions every day. Our business is split into Müller Milk & Ingredients (MMI) and Müller Yogurt & Desserts (MYD). We are hiring for a Senior Financial Controller on a fixed-term 12 months.

Location is flexible on a hybrid working model (3 days per week on site). Contract: Full-Time, 12 month fixed term. Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial decision-making support and act as finance lead in driving improvements in site performance.
• Ensure site budgets, capital investments and three-year plans are optimised; act as business partner to the Head of Manufacturing.
• Hold fiduciary responsibility for all materials and assets owned by the company on the site.
• Develop and maintain a system of financial control aligned with company policies and fiduciary duties.
• Ensure correct recording of all inventories (R&M, Milk, Ingredients, etc.) in the company\'s financial systems.
• Own the site balance sheet and ensure accurate reporting of materials consumption, wastage, and variances.
• Bridge site performance to prior periods and forecasts; support Commercial teams with new tenders.
• Manage, maintain and review the Bill of Materials and product costing models; implement updates to maintain accuracy.
• Close the books for the site each month and ensure management accounts accurately report income, expenditures and closing balance sheet.
• Provide the site management team and MMI leadership with timely, clear analysis of financial impact of performance.
• Drive and manage standardized financial KPI metrics for the site and report on daily/weekly/monthly cycles.
• Explain site milk costs on a monthly basis and ensure clear reporting of site financial performance to leadership.
• Review and improve site forecasting and performance metrics; act as a business partner to the local site manager while maintaining independence.
• Support line managers/senior manufacturing teams in identifying and challenging local site performance.
• Coordinate and facilitate the detailed budget and forecasting process, explaining business impacts to Internal, Functional and Group colleagues.
• Evaluate and continuously review investment opportunities for the site; support network design option reviews.
• Support SKU/Product Family rationalisation opportunities within/across sites.
• Provide robust financial modelling and systems solutions to new manufacturing opportunities across the site.
• Drive improvements in operational budgeting such as bottom-up resource planning; support customer profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with other controllers to present consistent reports across sites and ensure standard, professional presentation of information.
• Lead the site finance team and work with the Central Finance team to ensure timely updates to financial systems/reports.

Qualifications & Skills

• Qualified Accountant with 5+ years PQA experience.
• Proven experience in FMCG.
• Ability to operate at all levels; excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Experience managing a team; self-starter with ability to partner with senior leadership.
• Strong teamwork with ability to work on own initiative and develop skills in new areas.
