Finance Manager – Join a Leading Construction Specialist!

Elvet Recruitment has partnered with a well-established specialist contractor in the construction sector to find a Finance Manager for their County Durham team.

As Finance Manager, you'll be a key player in the successful delivery of projects, ensuring precision‑led financial management and collaborating with teams to maintain high standards from start to finish.

Main Duties

• Oversee preparation and delivery of monthly and annual financial reporting, including management accounts, balance sheets, and P&L statements.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and statutory requirements.
• Manage VAT returns, PAYE, payroll, and other regulatory filings.
• Take responsibility for accounts payable/receivable and cash flow monitoring.
• Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to senior management.
• Maintain and improve financial systems and processes.
• Lead, support, and develop a small finance team, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a senior or leadership finance role.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Strong experience in management reporting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial controls.
• Commercially astute, able to communicate financial info to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Confident working with senior management and key decision‑makers.
• Experience in construction is a plus, but not essential.

• Hours: Monday‑Friday, flexible working.
• Location: Office‑based, County Durham.
• Salary: £50,000 DOE + annual company bonus.
