Job description

Location: Ascot Group HQ, Worle (office-based)

Hours: 8:30am–5:00pm Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–4:00pm Friday

Reporting to: Andrew Scott, Founder & CEO

Group: Ascot Group & Knightstone

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Executive Assistant to work directly with our Founder & CEO.

This is not a traditional EA role.

You will be the CEO’s right-hand, helping to run the day-to-day rhythm of the business, ensure priorities are delivered, people follow through on commitments, and standards are upheld — while also providing high-level executive and personal support.

One moment you may be attending senior meetings, analysing data, or organising a major event; the next you may be preparing spreadsheets, drafting correspondence, or booking travel. You must be comfortable doing both — and doing them well.

About the CEO

Andrew Scott is the Founder & CEO of the Ascot Group — a technology-led marketing, media and software group employing around 85 people from its HQ in Worle, North Somerset.

He sold his high-profile publishing and events company Business Leader two years ago and is now a regular keynote speaker (including a TED Talk), business mentor and strategic advisor, with a book being published later this year.

Andrew also owns Knightstone, a residential and commercial property business, and invests in entrepreneur-led start-ups.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Acting as an extension of the CEO, representing him and acting on his behalf when required
  • Keeping the businesses organised, aligned, and moving forward
  • Attending meetings, capturing actions, and ensuring delivery
  • Holding people to account for agreed outcomes
  • Supporting day-to-day operations, governance, and compliance
  • Overseeing HR activity, including recruitment and onboarding
  • Supporting and coordinating events, including:
    • Business events and conferences
    • Mentoring programmes
    • Speaking engagements and appearances
    • Book launches and promotional events
  • Analysing information and performance data
  • Preparing and presenting reports and updates for the CEO and leadership team
  • Liaising confidently with accountants, lawyers, property professionals, suppliers, and partners
  • Supporting management of the CEO’s property portfolio and facilities, including health & safety
  • Providing executive and personal assistant support, including:
    • Diary, travel, and time management
    • Managing speaking engagements, podcasts, and interviews
    • Drafting correspondence and preparing documents
    • Booking meetings, restaurants, tickets, and logistics
    • Handling day-to-day personal requests

In short: doing whatever is required to keep the CEO effective and the group running smoothly.

About You

You will be:

  • Highly organised, proactive, and delivery-focused
  • Technology savvy, comfortable with modern systems and tools
  • Confident analysing information and turning it into clear, practical insight
  • Strong on the phone and face-to-face with senior people
  • Assertive, calm under pressure, and able to hold people to account
  • Comfortable switching between strategic conversations and hands‑on tasks
  • Willing and able to travel when required
Experience & Fit
  • Experience working closely with a Founder, CEO, or senior leader
  • Strong operational and execution capability
  • Comfortable operating across multiple businesses and priorities
  • Good commercial understanding, including finance
  • Absolute discretion, loyalty, and integrity
