Job summary

BYD Europe is seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer for Passenger Cars based in Uxbridge, near London. You will deliver fast and effective technical support across the UK through service portal, remote diagnostics and onsite visits, while building regional technical capability.

The role requires EV/NEV background, IMI EV/Hybrid qualification, fluent English, willingness to travel across Europe and occasionally to China, and strong cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above with at least 2 years in automotive technical support.
• IMI EV/Hybrid qualification required; Level 4 is a plus.
• Fluent English and strong cross-cultural / cross-functional coordination.
• Willingness to travel across Europe and to China.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across the UK via service portal, remote diagnostics and onsite visits.
• Identify and report recurring faults to HQ and drive timely resolution of quality issues.
• Lead onsite responses to escalated cases and perform technical investigation and analysis.
• Collect vehicle data and diagnostic logs to support root cause analysis with HQ engineering teams.
• Review warranty claims from a technical perspective, ensuring repairs are accurate and in BYD standards.
• Plan and deliver technical training, including new product launches and technician programmes.
• Develop and publish technical bulletins and repair case studies for the retailer network.
• Visit retailers regularly and run meetings/workshops with partners and HQ to build regional capability.
• Audit retailer workshops for compliance with BYD standards, including high-voltage safety requirements.
• Support senior management and key customers on complex technical escalations, with clear communication.
