Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer - Colchester - Up to 63,000

A leading electronics engineering company is seeking a Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to lead complex development projects, designing and testing advanced hardware systems.

Responsibilities
  • Define product specifications with Product Management
  • Lead the design of digital, analogue, and RF hardware using Altium Designer
  • Perform component selection, simulation, and testing
  • Debug and validate hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers)
  • Collaborate with mechanical/software teams for integration
  • Manage the full development lifecycle from concept to production
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as a Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer
  • Expertise in Altium Designer, schematic capture, and PCB layout
  • Strong knowledge of RF, high-speed signal design, EMI/EMC, and power management
  • Confident using lab tools for debugging and validation
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of FPGA design (VHDL, Verilog) or microcontroller systems is a plus
