Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley in the UK water sector is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to shape electrical functions from concept to commissioning across multiple projects.

You will lead electrical design on water treatment equipment, coordinate with clients and teams, and ensure compliant, safe, and efficient solutions. The role also supports chartership and professional development within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered or incorporated member of a professional body (e.g., IET).
• Experience on wastewater or water/infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs for water treatment equipment at client sites.
• Produce and review specifications and procurement schedules; assess tender submissions.
• Challenge Client specifications and defend solutions to complex problems.
• Identify delivery improvements and implement standard designs and digital tools.
• Act as technical checker and perform cross-team reviews.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines and document production.
• Engage with engineers, specialists, and clients to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to ensure safe, practical design delivery.
• Mentor graduates and engineers to develop knowledge and skills.
• Engage with clients to manage relationships and promote a one-team approach.
• Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.
