A leading engineering and environmental solutions provider is seeking a Senior Ecologist in Bristol to support various ecological projects across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in protected species surveys and ecological management. Responsibilities include managing a technical team, producing deliverables, and mentoring junior ecologists. The role also involves creating ecological solutions in compliance with regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to provide support to all ecology related activities on a variety of road contracts across the Strategic Design Framework for National Highways, a variety of council schemes (e.g., Staffordshire Council, Newport Council), and the Network Rail Wales and West Framework for ecology services. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for supporting the development and growth of the team, which may also include leading on ecology specific business development opportunities. Our Ecologists are integral to the Energy Transition and Sustainability team, working closely with our clients. As a Senior Ecologist you will provide effective support and assistance to your Ecology leads on a variety of ecological schemes whilst taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior Ecologists. The role will also include ecological support to regional and national projects to a wide range of public sector clients (Amey currently works with clients in the highways, rail, local authority, central government, aviation and waste sectors).
