Senior Digital Buildings Consultant Role
The Senior Digital Buildings Consultant leads digital transformation across building portfolios. The role translates client challenges into measurable outcomes, improving energy, reliability, cybersecurity and user experience across complex multi‑stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Client Management – Lead and deliver consultancy and systems engineering projects, ensuring successful fulfillment of Scope‑of‑Work and client objectives. Manage complex multi‑stakeholder programs, delivering on time, within scope and to the highest quality and reliability standards. Provide technical leadership, mentorship and client engagement.
- Digital Building Design & Engineering – Provide support, advice and collaboration on Digital Building and IoT integration initiatives. Demonstrate strong technical expertise in Digital Building systems integration, design and implementation, with a focus on BMS, Automation, Lighting Controls and Energy Management systems and open‑protocol custom engineering.
- Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Focus – Utilize digital building controls and data analytics to optimize performance, reduce consumption and identify faults. Consult on integrating sustainable design into all Digital Building architectures, ensuring lower carbon footprint and high operational efficiency.
- Cybersecurity and OT Governance – Implement cybersecurity best practices, secure OT / IT integration, threat identification and incident response. Govern technology solutions to align with goals, manage risks and ensure compliance.
- Industry & Business Growth – Maintain industry expertise, identify innovation opportunities and support business development activities.
Qualifications
- Required Experience – Minimum 7 years in Digital Building and IoT industry with proven track record in Consultant, Designer, Project Manager or Engineer roles.
- Required Education – Bachelor or Master’s degree in Controls Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Core Technical Knowledge – Strong expertise in Digital Building Systems Integration design, development and implementation; Cybersecurity best practices; IP Networking (IPv4/IPv6, Switching, Routing, DHCP, WiFi); System Audits; Controls Strategies, Schematic Drawings and Wiring Diagrams; Protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON, DALI, MQTT).
- Consulting Skills – Effective stakeholder management, communication, documentation and presentation skills; High‑priority tactical problem solver; Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Desirable – Experience with Cloud Platforms (Google, Microsoft, Amazon) and Data Analytics; Familiarity with Systems Testing & Commissioning, Fault Detection & Diagnostics, Automated Commissioning; Knowledge of interoperability challenges and solutions across OT & IT; Knowledge of RIBA Stages of Work or international equivalents.
Location / Region
This role is remote but may involve working at client premises or our London office as required. International travel and working across time zones may be necessary.
Key Performance Indicators
KPIs will be developed with the Line Manager, focusing on team leadership, project delivery, performance, personal development, teamwork and client relationships/satisfaction.
