Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own deployment architecture and champion our Kubernetes platform modernization. You will drive CI/CD pipelines, design guardrails, and work with Engineering and TechOps to enable fast, safe software delivery on our on-premise estate.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, autonomy over migration strategies, and collaboration across engineering teams to shape scalable, observable systems.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a people-first culture.
• Excellent experience with Ansible: roles, inventories, vault, idempotency.
• Production experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Strong scripting abilities in Bash and Python.
• Experience with GitOps tooling: ArgoCD or Flux.
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager).
• Ability to plan pragmatically and deliver iteratively in an on-prem environment with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment architecture for the Kubernetes platform modernization.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines and guardrails for safe production releases.
• Collaborate with TechOps to standardize namespace configurations and ingress/SRB policies.
• Migrate workloads to Kubernetes, starting with non-critical environments to build confidence.
• Create self-service deployment documentation and runbooks for engineers.
