What We Can Achieve Together:

The Impact Finance & Markets Division (IFM) at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) provides technical and strategic leadership to create transformational impact with the private sector by translating the value of nature and conservation approaches into actionable, science-based strategies that can help solve societal challenges. The Corporate Engagement (CE) team, one of three business units in the Impact Finance & Markets Division, provides technical leadership to translate the value of nature and conservation into actionable and standards-aligned strategies for companies across the world.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Corporate Engagement Associate, Investment Engagement to help lead corporate and investor engagement efforts and manage high-priority collaborations with Financial Institutions. This role is focused on integrating nature into financial decision-making, with a strong thematic emphasis on sustainable agricultural supply chains. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance, business, and environmental sustainability, and is ready to take ownership of strategic relationships and projects.

This is a two-year term role with opportunities for extension, based on performance and funding.

We're Looking for You:

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Engagement Advisor, Investment Engagement, you will be responsible for leading targeted engagement strategies with financial institutions, companies, and NGO partners. This role will own and manage a select number of high-priority collaborations. You will take ownership for the project and coordinate with key stakeholders internally and externally, monitor and measure project progress, conduct corrective action as necessary, and communicate project status information to all stakeholders. You will perform risk management and conflict management, as well as collaboratively solve complex problems. You will utilize project management methodologies and processes and ensure all organizational and divisional standards are met. In addition to leading collaborations, a portion of your time of your time will be dedicated to advancing initiatives, including capacity building with banks and asset managers, that align financial flows with nature-positive outcomes in commodity-linked sectors, particularly those associated with deforestation and ecosystem conversion.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
  • Drive strategic partnerships with financial institutions to embed biodiversity and nature-related considerations into decision‑making. Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirement.

  • Develops strategic partnerships with relevant groups to lead engagement strategies with financial institutions, investor forums, and corporate actors to promote nature-positive approaches in agricultural supply chains.

  • Serves as a team leader for assigned projects and coordinate the work of others, including managing and implementing complex projects, including setting project timelines, managing project teams, developing and managing project budgets, supporting deliverables, and communicating to stakeholders with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Lead or co‑lead coordination of meetings, workshops, and webinars with corporate and civil society partners.

  • Collaborate across internal teams (science, policy, regional) to ensure alignment and integration of nature-related priorities.

  • May manage or participate in complex negotiations.

  • Develop and deliver tailored messaging and materials for external stakeholders, including senior leadership and partners.

  • Manage relationships and outreach efforts with key financial sector actors and NGO collaborators.

  • Monitor and report on engagement outcomes, market trends, and policy developments related to sustainable finance and deforestation‑free investment.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental policy, finance, business, political science, international development or a related field and 4 years of experience in corporate engagement, sustainable finance, ESG, or conservation, or equivalent combination.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Experience engaging with financial institutions or investor networks.

  • Experience in designing, implementing and directing multiple complex projects and ensuring program accountability.

  • Experience working with corporate or NGO partners.

  • Communications experience including preparing and presenting project proposals.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced, remote team environment.

  • Experience using project management techniques and tools.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., TNFD, SBTN, ESG reporting).

  • Understanding of nature-related risks, deforestation‑free finance, or commodity‑linked sustainability issues.

Salary Information:

This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non‑national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only , the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $76,454 – $103,000 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA.

For all other applicants, pay ranges will be in local currency, the pay range will be based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally, for all applicants, actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including, for example, the candidate's qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
