An opportunity has arisen to join the Functional Skills Assessment team as a Senior Content and Assessment Leader contributing to the effective delivery of a qualification suite within Pearson's FS portfolio. The SCAL role will oversee aspects of the Assessment process and take a leading role in producing reports and engaging with many aspects of the business, our customers and the AA workforce to deliver outstanding outcomes with an approach of accuracy and managed calmness. The purpose of the SCAL role is to support and guide Assessment Leaders with technical expertise and to ensure that end-to-end processes of Assessment are conducted in a fair and accurate manner, in accordance with relevant policies and procedures of Pearson. This role requires the coordination of key team activities, alongside the QDAM within a given number of sectors, including scheduling and administering meetings, contracting and leading of AA workforce and providing feedback to managers and stakeholders as required. Along with the Assessment Leader team this role is responsible for ensuring that quality standards are met and comply with all applicable regulations.
SCALs work on a variety of projects, products and services to create and maintain an excellent assessment and content experience for our learners. This role plays a key part in the delivery of all related assessment and content aspects for a selection of vocational qualifications, assessments, and services, and is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of assessment content and outcomes in their assigned area. This role requires the postholder to be able to deliver key tasks, whilst supporting the Qualification Delivery and Award Manager with cross-functional projects, aimed at enabling our content strategy and continual improvement. The post holder will develop or hold a specialism in a key content or assessment area, and lead on the continual improvement of this.
The Senior Content and Assessment Leader will be responsible for guiding and supporting the end-to-end cycle of Assessment for a portfolio of units within Functional Skills. You will be accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of assessment content and outcomes in their assigned area and will provide technical support and training to ensure effective delivery of this. The postholder must be capable of delivering essential assessment tasks accurately and on time within a high‑pressure, regulated environment. SCALs on occasion, will also be asked to deliver the series activities associated with external assessment or internal Standards Verification. This is a varied and demanding role, requiring a versatile individual who can effectively balance competing demands and priorities while focusing on achieving overall objectives and key results (OKRs).
