Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy in Scotland seeks a Compliance Manager to lead compliance programs and regulatory initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee key compliance monitoring activities and manage regulatory returns while supporting the development of internal policies. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in compliance and previous experience as a DMLRO or MLCO. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to local and group regulatory standards.

Job description

A fantastic leadership opportunity within a growing compliance team, this role offers broad scope across local and group-level risk and regulatory initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee a range of compliance programmes, from policy development to regulatory reporting, while also contributing to inspections, investigations and wider governance projects.

Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading key elements of the Compliance Monitoring Programme and business risk assessments.
  • Managing regulatory returns and acting as DMLRO, supporting SAR investigations where needed.
  • Overseeing thematic reviews and inspections, and responding to regulator queries.
  • Supporting development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
  • Acting as a resource for escalated compliance matters and maintaining compliance registers.
  • Representing the business in local and group-wide governance projects.
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of GFSC requirements, particularly around AML/CFT.
Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a senior compliance role, preferably having held prescribed positions such as MLCO or DMLRO. They will demonstrate sound organisational and leadership skills, a solid understanding of local regulations, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Candidates should be confident navigating the GFSC Handbook and advising on regulatory impact across a complex business structure.
