Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run cloud foundations on GCP across regions and providers. You will own scalable infrastructure, ensure reliability, and drive security-by-design across the platform.

You will lead complex projects, develop observability, IAM and secret-management solutions, and collaborate with the engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable and performant systems for global customers.

Qualifications

• Proven GCP multi-region disaster recovery experience.
• Experience with Terraform code and IaC practices.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes (GKE) and cloud networking.
• Knowledge of key/secret management (KMS, EKM, Secret Manager).
• Strong focus on security-by-design and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, build and maintain scalable infrastructure on GCP.
• Ensure performance and reliability of cloud environments with cost awareness.
• Automate and reduce manual tasks; write RFCs/ADRs and runbooks.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects from inception to production.
