A prominent NHS health service provider in London is seeking a dedicated Senior Clinical Fellow in Vascular Surgery. The role involves comprehensive training in vascular and endovascular surgery, supporting consultant surgeons, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates must have a Medical Degree, advanced life support certification, and a commitment to clinical and research excellence. This position offers exposure to complex cases and contributes to a leader in specialized care in the region.
The Cardiovascular directorate at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is a large, tertiary centre for acute referrals, providing highly specialised treatments to patients across South East London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. The vascular surgery department has 132 beds, 5 cardiac catheter laboratories, 4 dedicated operating theatres and a vascular hybrid facility with integrated imaging. We are a leader for open, endovascular and hybrid treatment of complex vascular pathology.
The directorate would like to appoint a proactive and highly‑motivated individual to join the complex tertiary service provided by Vascular Surgery. Applicants will need to have a strong background in vascular surgery and be interested in developing expertise in the treatment of complex vascular procedures. The posts will be for 6 months with the possibility of extension to 12 months and are ideal for doctors working towards a consultant level appointment (final year of training or post‑CCT fellowship).
The applicants will be expected to support the service in both the development of clinical and research activities and will have the opportunity to be exposed to the full range of complex tertiary services through on‑call and emergency work.
As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. Some staff groups will increasingly be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer services in the evenings or at weekends. We are part of a world‑leading Academic Health Sciences Centre. Our excellent benefits include final salary pension scheme. Equality of opportunity is our policy.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is an equal opportunity employer. Equality of opportunity is our policy.
