A leading construction firm in the UK is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Pre-Contract team. This pivotal role involves estimating and pricing various infrastructure projects, including rail and civil engineering works. You will collaborate with bid, planning, and delivery teams to create competitive tenders. Essential requirements include proven estimating experience and strong first principles estimating expertise within civil engineering. The role also involves mentoring junior team members and preparing detailed tender documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering infrastructure.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks.
• Strong first principles estimating expertise.
• A solid technical background in civil engineering works.

Responsibilities

• Managing tenders from receipt of documentation through to submission.
• Working collaboratively with internal teams to develop bid-winning strategies.
• Presenting tender submissions at internal review meetings.
• Liaising with supply chain partners regarding supplier and subcontractor enquiries.
• Completing technical and commercial appraisals of labour and materials.
• Producing accurate take-offs from drawings and pricing works.
• Agreeing resourcing levels and outputs with teams.
• Identifying and pricing project risks.
• Preparing all tender documentation and submission deliverables.
• Mentoring and supporting Assistant Estimators and team members.
