Civil & Structural Engineering, Transport Infrastructure

((BST: 8:00 - 18:00 (Mon/Thurs) 8:00 - 16:00 (Fri)))

We are seeking a skilled Engineer or Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join a consultancy in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. As a key member of our Civil Engineering Design firm, you will be responsible for designing infrastructure projects, reviewing and project‑managing projects while mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil engineering and be passionate about learning and developing towards chartership.

Responsibilities
  • Design infrastructure projects.
  • Review and project‑manage projects to the highest standard.
  • Mentor and oversee junior staff.
  • Deliver on client expectations and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Manage workload and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BSc or BEng) in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure design and project management from a UK consultancy.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, PDS, Microdrainage, Info Drainage PDS and other design tools.
  • On route to obtaining IEng or CEng status.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards, codes, and guidelines related to infrastructure design and construction.
  • Excellent report‑writing skills with some experience of flood risk assessments (FRA).
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to take ownership within the team and mentor junior staff.
