Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of projects, from site due diligence to detailed design and construction support. The role will support business growth, client relationships, and the continued development of AECOM’s civil engineering capability within a range of market sectors, including data centres.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or operating at chartered level with demonstrated leadership and professional authority.
• Significant experience in development-led infrastructure engineering; data centre sector experience is a plus.
• Experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects including road geometry, drainage, earthworks and utilities.
• Strong knowledge of planning, highways, drainage and utility approvals.
• Understanding of BIM modelling and collaborative platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic civil engineering leadership and governance for development projects.
• Lead, review and approve infrastructure designs and specifications for site development.
• Coordinate with ground, electrical, mechanical, structural engineers and project managers across the UK and globally.
• Support client engagement, business development and sector thought leadership.
• Undertake project management responsibilities across a portfolio of schemes.
