Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio, from site due diligence to masterplanning and detailed design. You will support client relationships and grow AECOM’s civil capability across market sectors, including rapidly expanding data centre projects.

As a senior team member, you’ll mentor engineers, ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance, and work with UK and international colleagues to deliver resilient,

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or equivalent at chartered level.
• Significant development-led infrastructure experience; data centre sector advantageous.
• Experience delivering complex civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, earthworks, pavements, utilities.
• Strong knowledge of planning, highways, drainage, and utility approvals.
• Understanding of BIM processes and collaborative platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic civil engineering leadership and governance for development projects.
• Lead and approve infrastructure designs for site development and utilities.
• Coordinate with ground, electrical, mechanical, structural engineers, architects, PMs across UK and globally.
• Mentor civil engineers to enhance technical capability and delivery.
• Undertake project management across a portfolio of schemes.
