Senior Chef de Partie - London

Role Overview

The role of Senior Chef de Partie at Abbey Road Studios requires a skilled and passionate chef with experience in high‑end, fast‑paced environments. Our CDPs are integral to delivering exceptional quality across daily service, artist catering and event menus, from breakfast through to bespoke private sessions. Pride, creativity and consistency are key, as is a collaborative, “all hands on deck” approach to ensure every meal reflects the artistry and atmosphere Abbey Road is known for. Strong health, safety and food hygiene practices are essential, following clear processes and supporting the Head Chef and wider team in delivering a world class experience to every guest. This role is well suited to a Senior Chef de Partie looking to develop their leadership skills, broaden operational responsibility and progress toward a Junior Sous Chef position within a supportive, high‑performance kitchen environment.

Reporting

As a Senior Chef de Partie your direct line managers are the Sous Chef (for daily operations), with oversight from the Executive Chef. You will be required to attend quarterly review meetings with the Executive Chef to monitor performance and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up all required MEP and equipment for the successful operation of the allocated section (sauce / larder / prep / events) for breakfast and lunch services.
  • Lead the service of the allocated section under the supervision of the Sous and Head Chef.
  • Prepare ingredients, MEP, recipes and deliver the final product for daily menus as instructed by the line manager, in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of prep and final product by following Abbey Road Studios prep sheets and recipes, under the guidance of line managers.
  • Optimise the prep and cooking processes, maintaining speed, efficiency and quality in equal measure.
  • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards, completing daily checks including (but not limited to) temperature records, cleaning schedules, labelling and HACCP documentation.
  • Monitor portion control and wastage across the allocated section.
  • Track stock levels and ingredient availability for your section, requesting orders from the line manager as required.
  • Complete daily opening and closing checklists for the allocated section, with line manager sign‑off.
  • Support, mentor and train Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters, contributing to their development through clear guidance, feedback and example.
  • Carry out weekly compliance checks and deep cleans.
  • Maintain flexibility in hours, shifts and location in line with business needs (any changes to the standard working pattern will be agreed at least 48 hours in advance).
  • Help maintain a culture of smooth, friendly cooperation and a positive working environment amongst your team.
  • Support events catering when required, assisting with prep, service and set‑up alongside the Senior Chef.
