Main duties of the job

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant is to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring, open, supportive and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilities include monitoring the wellbeing of residents, involvement in person-centred care planning, supporting residents with medication requirements, undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development, and acting as a key contact with residents, relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in residents’ wellbeing.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant is to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, open, supportive and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, noting changes impacting care and care plans, ensuring new needs are met, and updating records accordingly.
• Participating in the person-centred care planning process, implementing, monitoring and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development where required.
• Acting as a key point of contact with residents, relatives and visitors, and with health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints escalated where needed.

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.

• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
