Key Responsibilities
  • New Business Development: Identify, target, and convert recruitment agencies and SME clients; develop and execute a structured new business strategy aligned with organisational growth objectives; leverage outbound activity and inbound warm leads to maximise conversion and pipeline value; engage senior decision-makers to understand business challenges and payroll requirements (PAYE, Umbrella, and CIS solutions) aligned to client needs; confidently present payroll software and system demonstrations.
  • Relationship Management & Market Presence: Build trusted, long-term relationships with agency owners, directors, and operational leaders; position yourself as a strategic partner rather than a transactional supplier; monitor competitor activity, market trends, and regulatory developments to maintain a commercial edge.
  • Contribute to the design and growth of the support function through onboarding, mentoring, and development of future hires.
  • Progress into a leadership role with responsibility for performance management and team growth.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within payroll, recruitment, or contractor services.
  • Ability to influence and build credibility with senior decision-makers.
  • Structured, disciplined, and organisational and relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of recruitment processes and contractor lifecycles; IR35/AWR knowledge advantageous.
  • Leadership mindset and ambition to progress into senior leadership.
