The Senior Building Surveyor Role

As the successful Senior Building Surveyor, you will be delivering a variety of professional services and project work, with a focus on Building Surveying within the London market. Day-to-day, you will be working closely with clients, providing expert advice, and managing a diverse range of instructions.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out building inspections, acquisition surveys, dilapidations, contract administration, schedules of condition, party wall awards, maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Maintaining relationships with existing clients while also supporting business development and winning new work.
  • Developing your technical knowledge through regular CPD and keeping up to date with legislation impacting the industry.
  • Supporting colleagues and junior surveyors, contributing to the collaborative and professional team environment.
The Successful Senior Building Surveyor Will Have

Qualifications:

  • A RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying (2:1 or above).
  • MRICS Chartered Status.

Knowledge & Attributes:

  • Strong experience across core Building Surveying services.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to exceed client expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work both independently and within a team.
  • Fee target achievement and effective negotiation skills.
  • A motivated and professional approach, with strong attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Post-qualification experience working at a senior level.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software (e.g. Bluebeam, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong business development skills.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
