Job summary

Immunocore Ltd in the UK seeks a Senior Scientist I in Characterisation to advance Biopharma product analysis including LC-MS/MS peptide mapping and intact mass. You will develop methods, support process development for biologics and ImmTAX programs, and contribute to protocol writing while mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities include analysing protein modifications, coordinating extensive testing, and presenting findings to internal teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry.
• Experience in assay development.
• Familiar with stability study principles and interpretation.
• Proven ability to work in diverse teams and drive efficiency.
• Presented detailed scientific findings to internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support impurity characterisation and identification of drug substances/products.
• Perform protein sequence and post-translational modification identifications including glycosylation.
• Develop characterisation methods for Biologics and ImmTAX projects (LC-MS/MS, intact mass).
• Design biochemical characterisation and stability studies; contribute to protocols and reports.
• Test independently and mentor others; present findings to teams and partners.
