Job summary

Immunocore is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to lead protein characterisation activities for biopharmaceutical products. You will develop and apply LC-MS/MS and peptide mapping methods, while analysing glycosylation and PTMs in recombinant proteins or antibodies.

You will coordinate testing, contribute to stability studies, and mentor colleagues in a fast-paced, cross-functionalBiopharma environment. Strong documentation and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical lab experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry methods.
• Experience in assay development.
• Familiar with biopharma stability study principles.
• Collaborative in diverse teams; drive improvements.
• Presented detailed findings to internal/external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Characterise drug substance and product impurities by LC-MS methods.
• Design and perform biochemical characterisation and stability studies.
• Contribute to method development for ImmTAX proteins.
• Write study protocols and reports.
• Present findings to teams and senior management.
• Ensure lab records and compliance with EHS policies.
