Job summary

Delaney & Bourton is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the AWS platform, drive architectural decisions and lead the evolution of cloud infrastructure. You will design scalable systems, implement infrastructure as code, and shape CI/CD pipelines across engineering teams.

You will work remotely within the UK, partnering with Head of Engineering and technical leadership to set standards, improve reliability and enable developers to deliver software efficiently.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience designing, building and operating production AWS environments.
• Extensive Terraform experience including modules, state, drift and controlled changes.
• Solid production Kubernetes experience, especially EKS.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions, with Docker and Git.
• Strong cloud networking, DNS, load balancing, security and least-privilege access.
• Proficient Linux administration and scripting (Bash/Python).
• Experience improving production environments, incidents and automation for reliability.
• Ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the AWS platform architecture and long-term maintainability.
• Lead Terraform/OpenTofu practices and infrastructure as code across teams.
• Oversee production Kubernetes environments (AWS EKS, ECS) and container ecosystem.
• Shape CI/CD and developer enablement, improving GitHub Actions pipelines.
• Set technical standards for cloud architecture, provisioning, security and deployments.
• Improve reliability and observability with Grafana, CloudWatch and OpenSearch, lead incidents.
• Own underlying infrastructure including networking, DNS, load balancing and IAM.
