Job description
Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and committed Audiologist to work in our friendly team for one year, to cover maternity leave. You will be working at our Audiology site at Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone. The department provides comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology services to an extensive population covering Waltham Forest and Redbridge London boroughs.

This position will be based in the adult audiology department and the suitable candidate will have to have at least 1 year's experience working as a band 5 Audiologist.

Qualifications required are BSc in Audiology (or equivalent).

Responsibilities
  • To provide independent diagnostic Audiological testing of adults and children, to be responsible for the safe use and calibration of equipment and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • To provide a comprehensive independent hearing aid service to adults and children including determining care plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.
  • To take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing audits within own field, participating in data collection for larger projects, and contributing to the development of evidence based protocols.
  • Toplan and prioritise elements of own workload, within the framework of service delivery priorities as defined by the line manager, and supervise the work of trainees/students and volunteers, as required.
  • To be responsible for the smooth running of a specified area of the audiology service, to be determined.
