The role of the Senior Analyst sits within Energy Networks SPD Commercial & Performance team, reporting to the Process & Compliance Manager.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to lead a team, work in a fast-paced environment, complete ad-hoc tasks and maintain a high level of accuracy.

You will monitor and challenge financial and non-financial performance to ensure progress toward business objectives and key performance indicators are clearly reported. You will also work closely with the Regulatory team to provide input and support for SPD regulatory reporting submissions to ensure the business meets its regulatory commitments

What you'll be doing
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements

  • Manage any ad-hoc requests in a timely manner and complete project work as and when necessary (e.g. value add activity)

  • Production of timely, accurate and relevant reporting on a daily/weekly/monthly/annual basis to provide commentary and insight on actual versus forecast performance and potential impacts

  • Analysis of costs and income in SAP system to ensure efficiency and profitability of connections work

  • Carry out ad hoc regulatory/commercial reporting on a weekly/monthly basis

  • Provide support for Regulatory Reporting submissions to OFGEM to ensure robust and accurate cost and volume information in reported

  • Lead and manage a team of 4 Business and Compliance Analysts

What you'll bring

We are looking for individuals who have knowledge of the regulatory environment and has a strong problem-solving ability gained from previous analyst experience. You will be a quick thinker with strong attention to detail, as well as possess the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills with the ability to work with multiple peer groups and varying levels of seniority

  • Numerically articulate and commercially aware

  • Ability to assimilate a large amount of complex, interlinked data and to make balanced decisions based on that data

  • Expert knowledge of financial and management reporting systems

  • Proven ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions

  • Organised multitasker, able to prioritise own workload and the team's workload to meet deadlines, whilst making improvements in the process

  • Able to provide level-headed guidance

  • Ability to analyse data and present insights effectively

Minimum Criteria
  • Experience of proactively leading, directing, managing, motivating, developing, coaching and mentoring a team

  • Proven experience in similar commercial/financial analyst positions

  • Strong knowledge of Regulatory obligations and License Conditions

  • Experience of financial reporting within a regulated environment

  • Experience with Power BI or similar systems including data modelling and report production

  • Advance Microsoft Office Skills

  • Working knowledge of SAP
