Overview
Manage the accounting for the Company's international business units in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which includes a mix of defense, commercial and corporate business activities.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that all requirements of the monthly close processes are complete including analysis of account fluctuations and monthly account reconciliations.
- Completion of statutory reporting requirements and support of internal and external audits of our international activity, including working closely with external auditors for completion of annual financial statements.
- Responsible for entity oversight and governance support, including entity directorships, bank account signatory, various invoice approvals, and UK tax and finance compliance responsibilities including acting as Senior Accounting Officer.
- Partner with local business leadership across large defense and commercial entities. Participate in regular country-leadership meetings.
- Act as liaison between the US and local Accounting Teams including EAS journal support, intercompany out of balance clearing, variance analysis, unbilled cost COE, and other closing activities.
- Effective oversight of offshore third-party BPO support.
- Support Tax audits as necessary.
- Supporting M&A activities impacting business within the UK&I.
- Build strategic relationships to influence personal and organizational effectiveness and enable cross-business/functional integration.
- Align organization's strategies to Boeing strategies and execute on priorities.
- Communicate across, up and down through the organization-translating and making key company/leadership goals or priorities relevant.
- Sustain a high performing team that delivers results and thrives in the international environment.
- Ability to operate across multiple ERPs, including SAP and Oracle E-Business.
- Accounting integration for new entity set-up.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting qualification preferred (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
- Significant progressive accounting experience (typically 7+ years) with leadership responsibility in a multinational environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and practical understanding of US GAAP and their interplay.
- Experience with statutory reporting, audit management and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Practical knowledge of UK tax regimes (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax) and experience supporting tax compliance/audits
- Excellent people management skills (Coaching/Teaching/Mentoring).
