Job summary

DCS Group, based in Banbury, seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to act as the highest level of technical escalation for infrastructure issues. You will manage servers, networks, virtualization, storage, security and cloud environments, while supporting projects and mentoring the IT team.

With 5+ years in infrastructure, you will tackle complex incidents, ensure resilience and drive improvements across the group’s IT landscape.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' infrastructure / systems engineering experience.
• Strong Windows Server and VMware experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes / Docker.
• Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, firewalls and VPN.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of storage, backup and disaster recovery.
• Strong security awareness and experience with patching and vulnerability management.
• PowerShell or scripting experience would be beneficial.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting and stakeholder skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN and wireless infrastructure.
• Manage Windows Server, VMware and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Support Kubernetes/containerised workloads.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• Support storage, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and security.
• Lead root cause analysis for complex incidents.
• Act as the 3rd line escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support.
• Support infrastructure projects, migrations and upgrades.
• Work with external IT suppliers and technology partners.
• Mentor and support IT engineers across the team.
