Job summary

Avanti Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer (3rd Line) to work on major infrastructure projects across a large, international business. This role offers a broad technical mix across servers, networking, virtualization, cloud, and cyber security, with around 70% of time dedicated to projects and significant UK/European scope.

You will join an established infra and operations team supporting a complex, multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in a genuine 3rd Line Support or Infrastructure Engineering role.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop environments, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V or Nutanix.
• Networking knowledge covering switches, LAN, WAN and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience supporting business-critical IT infrastructure, with strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a large, multi-site IT environment with hands‑on infrastructure work.
• Deliver approximately 70% of time on projects including upgrades, migrations and deployments.
• Collaborate with colleagues across IT to resolve issues and implement standardised platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex technical problems and maintain infrastructure reliability.
