Job summary

A family-run nursery provider in Churwell is seeking a qualified SENDCO to lead support for children with special educational needs. The SENDCO will collaborate with parents and agencies, design tailored support plans, and ensure an inclusive environment. Qualifications

By taking the lead in assisting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to engage fully in learning and reach their potential.

Through leading collaboration with families, staff, and external agencies to design and implement tailored support plans that meet each child’s needs.

By taking responsibility for promoting an inclusive, nurturing environment where all children feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.

What a SENDCO needs :
  • Must be at least Level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification and experience of working at a senior level.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the requirements set by Ofsted.
  • Excellent understanding of EYFS.
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
  • Experience of working with children with SEND requirements.
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
  • Ability to demonstrate multi agency working and experience of leading staff meetings
