SEND Teaching Assistant – Flexible supply opportunities available immediately. These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different primary school settings. You’ll be supporting schools in Exeter and the surrounding areas, working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required
  • Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school setting
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with a range of needs (autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
