Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist provision in Mansfield to recruit a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with various needs, including ASD/MLD/SLD. The role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities with day-to-day and long-term assignments.

You will work alongside teaching staff to deliver individualized support and maintain engagement throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, MLD and/or SLD.
• Good understanding of the needs of primary-aged children.
• Patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Adaptability and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning, development and engagement, working with teaching staff to meet individual needs.
• Provide consistent support throughout the school day to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

Are you a patient, adaptable and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who can provide individualised support?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Mansfield supporting primary-aged children with a range of additional needs. A large proportion of the children have Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD alongside Moderate Learning Disabilities / MLD or Severe Learning Disabilities / SLD, and the setting is committed to providing appropriate support for every child.

The provision is looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for both part-time and full-time opportunities, with day-to-day and long-term work available. The successful Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will support pupils with their learning, development and engagement, working alongside teaching staff to help meet individual needs and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

The successful Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, MLD and/or SLD
• A good understanding of the needs of primary-aged children
• A patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability and a can-do attitude
