Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in Mansfield is seeking a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs across the academy. The role offers both part-time and full-time hours with immediate start and daily pay between £92.63 and £100.

You will work alongside teaching staff to provide individualised support, help with learning, development and engagement, and contribute to safeguarding and a positive classroom environment.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist academy in Mansfield for children and young adults with severe, complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties. The academy supports over 80 pupils aged 3 - 19, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and Moderate or Severe Learning Disabilities / MLD / SLD.

The academy is looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for both part-time and full-time opportunities, with day-to-day and long-term work available. The successful Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will support pupils across the academy with their learning, development and engagement, working alongside teaching staff to meet individual needs and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

The successful Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young adults with special educational needs
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, MLD, SLD and/or complex learning difficulties
• An understanding of supporting pupils with a range of individual and complex needs
• A patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
