Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant in Mansfield for an immediate start. The role involves working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, delivering 1:1 and small group interventions, and supporting learning across the school day.

You will adapt activities to meet individual needs and assist with personal care where required, using positive behaviour strategies to boost engagement and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or a minimum of six months' recent experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils through 1:1 and small group interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to pupils with SEND.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Support pupils using knowledge of adaptive teaching and pre-key stage assessment to access learning.

Salary: £92.63 - £100 per day

Do you have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or at least six months of experience working with children with SEND?

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with a range of additional needs throughout the school day. You will deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, support pupils with personal care where required and use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation. A good understanding of adaptive teaching, pre-key stage assessment and the wider curriculum will be essential in helping pupils access learning successfully.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or a minimum of six months' recent experience supporting children with SEND.
  • A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils through 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Knowledge of behaviour support strategies, emotional regulation techniques and pre-key stage assessment.
  • Confidence supporting pupils with personal care where required.
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach with a genuine passion for helping every child succeed.
