Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role at a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield. You will provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 3 who has Autism/ASD, helping them access learning and follow routines in a nurturing classroom.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield with a high level of SEN need across the setting. The school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent, positive support and help pupils access learning in a nurturing classroom environment.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027. The successful Teaching Assistant will be working in Year 3, providing 1:1 support for a child with Autism / ASD and helping them to engage with learning, manage routines and develop their independence.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Experience working with children with SEN / SEND
• Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD
• Confidence providing 1:1 support within a primary school setting
• A patient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
