Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged children with ASD, MLD, and SLD at a specialist provision in Mansfield.

The role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, with day-to-day and long-term placements. You will work alongside teaching staff to meet individual needs and provide consistent support throughout the school day. The role also offers CPD opportunities, market-leading pay, and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

Are you a patient, adaptable and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who can provide individualised support?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Mansfield supporting primary-aged children with a range of additional needs. A large proportion of the children have Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD alongside Moderate Learning Disabilities / MLD or Severe Learning Disabilities / SLD, and the setting is committed to providing appropriate support for every child.

The provision is looking for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for both part-time and full-time opportunities, with day-to-day and long-term work available. The successful Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will support pupils with their learning, development and engagement, working alongside teaching staff to help meet individual needs and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

The successful Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, MLD and/or SLD
• A good understanding of the needs of primary-aged children
• A patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability and a ‘can-do’ attitude
