Job summary

Smart Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a SEND Teacher for a specialist school in Walsall. You will deliver highly personalised learning to pupils with severe and profound needs, aiming to help each pupil achieve their best within a supportive team.

Join a committed group working with therapists and healthcare professionals; long-term role with potential permanence, starting September 2026, with a daily rate of £140–£253.

Qualifications

• QTS required to teach in UK SEN environment.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEN within a UK school.
• DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised lessons to meet EHCP outcomes.
• Support pupils with complex learning, physical and sensory needs.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
• Promote independence, communication and confidence throughout the day.

The Role

Skills and Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Minimum of 6 months' experience teaching pupils with SEN within a UK school
• Experience differentiating learning to meet complex needs
• Enhanced Child or Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months
