Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a compassionate SEND Teacher to work in a specialist school in Walsall, supporting pupils with severe and profound needs. You will deliver personalised lessons and collaborate with therapists and healthcare professionals to ensure inclusive learning.

The role starts September 2026 and is long-term with potential permanence. A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Enhanced DBS on Update Service are required; references covering the last 24 months will be

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience teaching pupils with SEN in a UK school.
  • Experience differentiating learning to meet complex needs.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, personalised lessons to meet EHCP outcomes.
  • Support pupils with complex learning, physical and sensory needs.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • Promote independence, communication and confidence throughout the day.

The Role
