Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment Ltd is hiring a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex SEND in a specialist Walsall setting. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide nurturing, structured support and help pupils achieve EHCP targets.

With a minimum 6 months' SEN TA experience and DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one), you will assist in lessons, support daily routines, and promote independence while working PAYE or Umbrella.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months' experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with complex SEND.
  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.

  • Support children and young people as an SEN Teaching Assistant.

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to help pupils achieve their EHCP targets.

The Role

Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 6 months' experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with complex SEND.
  • Confident working with children and young people who have physical, medical, or learning difficulties.
  • Enhanced Child or Child & Adult DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.
Location and Package
  • Location: Walsall
  • Contract: Long-term, starting 1st September 2026
  • Daily rate: £95.00 - £109.25 (paid PAYE or Umbrella)
