Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a compassionate SEND Teacher to work in a specialist school setting in Walsall. You will deliver highly personalised learning to support pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties, focusing on EHCP outcomes and inclusive education.

You will join a committed team working with therapists and healthcare professionals, with a long-term contract and potential for permanence. The role starts September 2026, with a daily rate of £140–£253.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience teaching pupils with SEN in a UK school.
  • Experience differentiating learning to meet complex needs.
  • Enhanced Child or Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, personalised lessons to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Support pupils with complex learning, physical and sensory needs.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • Promote independence, communication and confidence throughout the school day.
