Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a specialist setting in Sutton Coldfield, starting 1st September 2026. You will support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, delivering tailored lessons and contributing to EHCP reviews.

The role requires QTS and a minimum of 6 months SEN/SEMH experience, with DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. A contract position with consistent hours is offered.

Qualifications

• QTS required.
• At least 6 months experience within an SEN or SEMH setting.
• Excellent behaviour management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Develop positive relationships that encourage engagement and learning.
• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.

The Role

You will be working within a specialist setting, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs alongside associated behavioural challenges. This role suits a resilient and empathetic teacher, able to create a calm, structured learning environment and motivate pupils in need of additional support to reach their full potential.
