SEND Teacher
Location: Scunthorpe
Start Date: Immediate
Daily Rate: £140–£230 (dependent on experience)

TeacherActive is working in partnership with a respected Special Educational Needs and Disabilities school in Scunthorpe. The school which is currently undergoing expansion plans to increase student numbers, prides itself on providing a nurturing, inclusive setting where pupils are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are recruiting a committed SEND Teacher to join this specialist provision and to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, adapted teaching to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD). All subject disciplines will be welcomed, but PE in particular would be a strong match.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for creating positive and structured learning experiences by:

  • Designing and delivering lessons aligned with individual EHCP outcomes
  • Teaching small classes with the support of skilled Teaching Assistants
  • Adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse communication and learning needs
  • Promoting emotional regulation through consistent behaviour support approaches
  • Working collaboratively with families, external professionals, and school staff
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND
  • Be flexible, empathetic, and resilient in their approach to teaching
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
  • Show a clear commitment to inclusive and child-centred education
