Location: Harrow and Ealing

Hours: Part‑time • Currently (Saturdays Harrow 13:00‑15:00) and (Sundays Ealing 14:00‑16:00), plans to increase in January

Salary: National Living Wage or more, depending on experience and qualifications

About Us

STARS & SEND is an inclusive sports club designed for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our focus is on communication, collaboration, and adaptation, ensuring every child can enjoy and participate in sports and physical activity in a way that suits them best.

About the Role

Role is currently to support one child in particular. There is flexibility in the role to follow the child's interest, e.g. sometimes they may want to join in with classes other times they may want a break. Child is also independent and sometimes needs space, the role would then be to support the rest of the class but always ensuring the child's safety and well‑being etc.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic assistant to support our sessions, helping children develop their skills, confidence, and love for physical activity. This role is ideal for anyone with experience in working with children with SEND, or an interest in making physical activity accessible for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive sessions.
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs of individual children.
  • Encourage teamwork, confidence, and participation.
  • Provide a fun and safe environment for all.
  • Set up and tidy sports equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with children and young people, parents, and staff.
  • Occasional light admin work such as photo taking or social media.
Requirements
  • A passion for working with children and making sports accessible.
  • Experience in coaching, sports, education, or working with individuals with SEND.
  • Ability to adapt activities and provide individualised support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.

Relevant qualifications or currently studying a sport or education based qualification.

DBS check on the update service and up to date safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).
