Primary SEND Teacher - SEMH & SLCN

Location: Grimsby
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Pay: £140-£230 (dependent on experience)

TeacherActive is recruiting for a specialist SEND provision in Grimsby that supports primary‑aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The school, rated Good by Ofsted, offers a highly supportive, structured environment focused on early intervention and long‑term positive outcomes.

We are seeking a dedicated Primary SEND Teacher who can deliver engaging, age‑appropriate learning while supporting pupils' emotional regulation, communication skills, and confidence in the classroom.

The Role

• Planning and delivering differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP targets
• Teaching small class groups with consistent support from specialist Teaching Assistants
• Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour
• Using communication‑focused approaches to support pupils with SLCN
• Working collaboratively with parents, carers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals

The Ideal Candidate

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching primary‑aged children, particularly those with SEMH and/or SLCN needs
• Demonstrate a calm, nurturing, and consistent teaching approach
• Be confident managing behaviour using trauma‑informed and positive reinforcement strategies
• Be committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
