Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs in classroom and small-group settings.
  • Recognise that behaviour is a symptom of unmet need; respond holistically and empathetically.
  • Work alongside class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver differentiated interventions.
  • Help pupils develop academic, social, emotional, and life skills.
  • Contribute to planning, monitoring, and evaluation of individual support plans.
Person Specification / Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people who have SEND (in school, specialist settings, or residential).
  • An understanding of ASC, SEMH, ADHD, and complex needs.
  • Patience, empathy, resilience, and the ability to build trustworthy relationships.
  • Ability to adapt strategies to meet pupil needs.
  • A positive, solution-focused approach and a commitment to inclusion.
