Overview

SEND Learning Support Assistant

Location: West Yorkshire - Leeds

Start: October 2025

We work exclusively with a number of SEND schools and alternative provisions who require extra support with students who have been identified with Social, Emotional Behavioural or Mental Health issues (BESD, EBD, SEMH). We have a variety of short-term, long-term and permanent opportunities with our client schools across West Yorkshire. We offer full induction training and Level 2 Team Teach certification by our inhouse training team. These roles are generally term time only Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities
  • Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Support the class teacher in addressing the needs of the pupils
  • Assist pupils who need particular help with behaviour management to overcome barriers to learning
  • Help to develop and implement IEPs/EHCPs and behaviour management strategies
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Have an understanding of needs including BESD, EBD, SEMH and other SpLD
  • Be patient, resilient and empathetic to students\' individual needs
  • Experience of working with children and young adults as either a Youth Worker, a Sports Coach or within an education setting would be advantageous
  • An up-to-date DBS that is on the DBS Update Service (or be willing to undertake a new one)
  • Proof of Safeguarding at a minimum of Level 1 (or be willing to undergo online training)
