At Randstad Tuition Services, we support young people who require intensive specialised educational support. We are seeking a highly specialised educator for a learner with an ASD diagnosis and a significant global developmental delay, experiencing significant motor and learning needs. This role requires a specialist ready to reimagine what teaching can be. We believe every child has something special to offer, and this learner needs a bespoke, modified curriculum set at his developmental level.

Who You Are

You are a therapeutic specialist who is patient, highly empathetic, and skilled in supporting learners at an early stage of learning:

  • SEN Expertise is Essential
  • A qualified teacher, experienced tutor, or specialist with a proven background in supporting complex SEN, specifically learners with PMLN and Nonverbal ASD.
  • Communication Specialist
  • Highly skilled in intensive interaction to create communication, turn taking, and shared attention.
  • Able to identify and encourage early stage communication, such as responding to gestures, eye contact, or vocalisations.
  • Comfortable modeling words, such as "more," during motivating games like bubbles.
  • Able to provide a high level of support and adaptations to meet physical, medical, communication and self-care needs.
  • Experience supporting significant motor needs, including unsteady walking where hand‑holding for balance is required, and ensuring frequent movement breaks are taken, as the learner can become distressed if staying in one place for too long.
  • Creative and Adaptive
  • You tailor sessions to specific targets, utilizing visual aids and multisensory strategies. You must leverage the learner's enjoyment of sensory aspects, such as looking at flashing lights, a sensory fish tank, and listening to music and songs.
  • Skilled in using developmentally appropriate toys and activities, including cause and effect toys.
What You'll Do
  • Deliver 1:1 therapeutic tuition that is relationship‑first and meets the learner where they are-academically and emotionally.
  • Plan engaging sessions utilising motivating games and activities set at the learner's early stage of learning.
  • Focus on fostering engagement and progress in learning activities by providing the necessary support and adaptations.
  • Work closely with the team to track learner progress on key non-academic KPIs (e.g., confidence, engagement).
  • Help the young person reconnect with the idea that they can learn.

  • Make a Significant Impact: Support a learner with highly complex needs, helping them navigate emotional and learning barriers.
  • Work Flexibly: Choose hours that fit your life.
  • Specialist Community: Access CPD and community—we support your growth as a human‑centered, specialist educator.
