Job summary

An education services provider in the Fleetwood area is seeking a part-time SEN Tutor to provide 1 to 1 support for students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will exhibit patience and empathy, creating tailored learning plans. Experience with SEND students and a teaching qualification are preferred. This is a temporary contract position with a pay rate of £25 per hour.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience.
  • UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.

Job description
Overview

Prospero teaching is looking for tutors with experience with SEN students or in an SEN setting in the Fleetwood area to provide 1 to 1 support to students with SEN requirements. We are seeking an inspirational and engaging tutor to help support students whose needs may not have been within a traditional school setting.

Responsibilities
  • Be patient, empathetic, and able to create and deliver learning plans on a 1 to 1 basis.
  • Apply a therapeutic approach as needed to re-engage students with their learning.
  • Provide structure in the pupil’s daily routine and support educational development, with the aim of helping the pupil return to an educational setting.
  • Monitor pupil progression by submitting weekly reports to Prospero.

  • Location: Within the community or pupils\' home in Fleetwood

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience
  • UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
Eligibility
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
