Job summary

An independent special school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with severe learning disabilities and autism. You will assist in developing communication and independence skills, while delivering personal care and handling challenging behaviours. The role requires resilience, energy, and a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject. Bespoke training in relevant areas will be provided, ensuring you are equipped to meet the unique needs of each student. Training includes First Aid and communication strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with a range of students/adults with SEN.
• Knowledge of child protection and health and safety regulations.
• Experience in supporting teaching and learning in schools.

Responsibilities

• Support students in developing communication and independence skills.
• Assist with sensory regulation and building social relationships.
• Deliver personal care, including toileting and bathing.
